How dumb can you be? The way I see it there are 2 possibilities to this situation. 1. If the AMS Version is crappy then that increases MS credibility helping him out, at which point even if he raises his prices people will still know they are paying for a quality product. 2. If they are equivalent to the MS manifolds then that will force competition to increase R&D to come out with an even better product.
Competition whether you like it or not creates better products.
Either option helps out Mike Smith whether it be his reputation or to drive him to create a product that surpasses his current product.
